Broken, Bare, and Rising: The No-BS Blog
This blog isn’t about sugarcoating life. There’s no “everything happens for a reason” here, no fluffy affirmations, no pretending I’ve got it all figured out. This is my no BS space to lay it all out my mess, my chaos, my survival. The days when my body won’t cooperate, my mind won’t stop racing, and the world feels like it’s moving forward without me.
This is where I get real about chronic illness, mental health struggles, trauma, and the uphill battle of just existing. It’s messy, it’s raw, and it’s honest the kind of honesty most people avoid.
Here, inspiration meets reality. Education meets raw truth. Awareness meets healing. And yeah… it’s basically my virtual diary, documenting the unfiltered truth of navigating a life that doesn’t come with an instruction manual.
You’ll read about the hard stuff the heartbreak, the isolation, the setbacks no one warns you about but also the wins, the small wins, and the unexpected moments of clarity that remind you: you can survive this, and you can rise from it stronger than you thought possible.
Topics include:
Domestic Violence and Healing – the ugly, the painful, the survival
Health and Wellness – what actually works when your body fights you
Living With Chronic Illness and Pain – the days that feel impossible and the victories that keep you going
Reflections – raw thoughts, uncomfortable truths, and insights from the trenches
Blog Series on Various Topics – deep dives into specific struggles, challenges, and growth areas so you can really learn, relate, and reflect
This space is for anyone who’s tired of pretending. For anyone who’s felt unseen, stuck, or defeated. Your pain doesn’t define you, your courage to rise does. Step in. Read, reflect, and claim your power.
Hello December
December is here a fresh page, a new chapter, and a chance to set intentions for the month ahead
The Identity that once Protected me
There comes a moment often subtle, often painful when survival no longer feels like safety
When Identity Becomes a Survival Mechanism
There are identities we grow into and identities we grow because of what we’ve had to survive.
November Reflection
November came and went in the blink of an eye, leaving me both breathless and full. This month carried me back to my teen years, ticked off bucket list dreams, celebrated birthdays, and finally let go of doors that no longer served me.
The Power and the Prison of Self-Labels
When life breaks us, when pain or trauma hits hard, labels give us something to hold onto. They can explain the unexplainable, give our experiences meaning, and even create a sense of strength
Healing Beyond the Wound
We spend so much time healing wounds the trauma, the illness, the heartbreak but often we forget another part of the healing journey:
The Labels No One Said Out Loud
Some labels are spoken directly, others are delivered through silence, sighs, eye rolls, or the way someone withdraws when we show emotion.
Rewind 2021
I started blogging in 2021 with nothing more than a website, a story, and a hope a hope to raise awareness, educate, and let even one person out there feel less alone
Self-Labels Can Empower, but Also Trap Us
Labels are interesting. They can make us feel strong, understood, validated and they can also make us feel small, stuck, and boxed in.
Who Am I When I’m Not Fixing or Healing?
Fixing things, healing others, healing myself, managing the chaos, holding the pieces together it became who I was. It wasn’t just something I did; it was what defined me.
The label - Im Chroniclly Ill
If you only looked at the label chronically ill, in pain, recovering you’d think my story was predictable. Rest. Crash. Repeat
“I Don’t Date, I Elevate”
Maybe I’m hard to love., those labels didn’t come out of nowhere., they were shaped by experiences, relationships, trauma, illness, survival mode.
If I took the labels away…
These words have followed me for years sometimes like armour, sometimes like chains.
Becoming Unwell changed Everything
Not just physically but mentally, emotionally, and in all the ways that don’t get seen or easily explained. Life started to look different. There were limits I never agreed to, never expected, and definitely never wanted
Courage Is Moving Different
Courage isn’t always loud. It doesn’t always roar or demand attention. Often, courage is quiet. It’s the decision to move differently,
The Power of Little Rituals
Life can easily pull us into survival mode rushing, doing, managing, and sometimes forgetting to truly be. Over the years, I’ve learned that thriving isn’t about grand gestures or monumental changes; it’s in the little rituals that anchor us
Labels once Served a Purpose
There comes a moment where the same labels that once gave grounding begin to feel like walls
The Barely Functioning Days
Those barely functioning kind of days. The ones where you wake up and everything just feels heavy your body, your thoughts, your emotions.
Beyond the Labels
We were talking about labels.the ones I wear because life handed them to me. The ones I’ve learned to say out loud so others understand why I am the way I am.
A Journey Back to Yourself
Over the past few weeks, we’ve travelled together through the Investing in the Most Beautiful You series a gentle journey of returning home to yourself.
