November Reflection
A Month of Music, Memories, and Life-Changing Moments
November came and went in the blink of an eye, leaving me both breathless and full. This month carried me back to my teen years, ticked off bucket list dreams, celebrated birthdays, and finally let go of doors that no longer served me.
One of the most unforgettable experiences was seeing Metallica live a band I’ve loved since I was a teen. Taking my son with me made it even more meaningful. Hearing those songs, some of which carried me through my darkest moments, come alive on stage was nothing short of epic. Evanescence followed, another band that shaped my youth, reminding me how music can hold memories, heal, and ignite joy all at once.
Amid the music and memories, I reconnected with a friend I hadn’t seen in 26 years. Spending that evening together reminded me that some bonds are timeless, waiting patiently to be picked up exactly where they left off.
Beyond the celebrations, November has been a month of clarity. I’ve grown more intentional with myself, more certain of who I am and what I will and will not accept. It’s been exhausting at times, challenging in ways I didn’t expect, but it’s also been a powerful lesson in self-kindness, trust, and resilience.
The month closed with a phone call that has forever changed my life. For years, it was always “just one more assessment,” “more advocating,” “more fighting systems.” Justice came in pieces, accountability remained absent but I finally feel at peace. I can close the door, say goodbye, and step forward as myself, free from labels and the weight of others’ actions.
November leaves me with memories, lessons, and moments I will carry into December and beyond. I am ready to move forward with clarity, courage, and the freedom to simply be me.
