On the Days You Feel Like Disappearing

I woke up flat today.
Stomach on fire.
Head loud.
Mood off.

Could’ve stayed in bed honestly, I wanted to.

But this is where it shifted not perfectly, just enough.

Accountability friend.
A check-in from my therapist.
Plans for a self-care retreat on Sunday.
A beautiful message from my pole crew.

So I got in the pool.
I grounded.
I took a moment to come back to myself even if it felt forced at first.

And that’s the thing

Not every day is going to feel good.
Some days are heavy as hell.
Some days you’re just not okay and that’s real.

Bad Day Survival Checklist

☐ Acknowledge it — “Today feels heavy, and that’s okay.”
☐ Get out of bed (even if it’s slow and messy)
☐ Drink some water
☐ Move your body (walk, stretch, pool — anything counts)
☐ Check in with someone safe (friend, therapist, support crew)
☐ Don’t isolate — even one message is enough
☐ Ground yourself (breathe, step outside, feel your surroundings)
☐ Eat something nourishing (even small is okay)
☐ Lower the pressure — today is not a performance day
☐ Do one small thing that brings comfort (shower, PJs, tea)
☐ Remind yourself: “This will pass”
☐ Stay kind to yourself — no harsh self-talk
☐ Let it be a bad day, not a bad life

But be gentle with yourself in those moments.
Surround yourself with people who lift you when you can’t lift yourself.
Move your body, even a little it shifts more than you think.
Fuel yourself, rest, reset.

You don’t have to fix everything today.
Just don’t abandon yourself in it.
