We All Have Someone Who Inspires Us
We all have people who inspire us. For some, it’s parents, teachers, mentors, or role models. For me, it’s been a little different.
My inspiration didn’t come from people I admired it often came from those I never wanted to become. They followed me through my life in quiet ways, shaping how I handled relationships, motherhood, and the choices I made. Sometimes, the best lessons don’t come from shining examples of success they come from the people who show us what we don’t want for ourselves.
I learned about the world through my own mistakes, my downfalls, and my fuck-ups. I wasn’t handed an easy map. Instead, I stumbled, fell, and had to figure out how to stand again. And in those times, it wasn’t family guiding me. It was people along the way people who weren’t blood but who “adopted” me in spirit. They stepped in with advice, encouragement, or simply a presence that reminded me I wasn’t entirely alone.
Looking back, I realize inspiration is complex. It doesn’t always come in love and light. Sometimes, it comes through shadows, through the heartbreak of broken examples, and through the hands of unexpected people who show up in your life when you need them most.
So if you’ve ever felt like you didn’t have the “right” people to look up to, know this you can still rise. You can take the broken pieces, the shadows, the wrong examples, and use them as fuel to create something better. Your story doesn’t end where you came from. You get to write the next chapter.
