Unapologetically Me

Beyond the Assumptions

I love how people assume.

I love how people pass judgment.

Yes I’m chunky.

And no, I’m not about to become Barbie.

I’m not here to fit into a box someone else designed.

People get so caught up in the outside that they forget there’s a whole story underneath the skin a life, a journey, a woman showing up every single day with strength and heart.

What they don’t see is the effort it takes to keep this body moving.

The yoga sessions, the water walking, the nature walks, the hills I climb.

They don’t see the medications I take just to help my thyroid do its job, or the mental battles I fight quietly behind the smile.

They don’t see the discipline, the healing, or the courage it takes to keep showing up when your body doesn’t always make it easy.

And yet, people still assume.

  • They assume “chunky” means lazy.

  • They assume “curvy” means careless.

  • They assume “different” means less.

But let me tell you something I work damn hard to keep this body moving.

  • I eat healthy. I care for myself.

  • I show up for my mind, my body, and my soul.

  • Because my worth is not measured in kilograms.

It’s measured in kindness, resilience, humor, compassion, and the way I love others and myself even through the messy parts.

When did we stop seeing people for who they are instead of what they look like?

When did beauty become a checklist instead of an energy?

I’m done shrinking myself to make others comfortable.

I’m done apologizing for existing in a body that doesn’t fit the “standard.”

This body is my home.

It carries my story, my laughter, my pain, my joy, my growth.

It has carried me through trauma, through healing, through every season where I didn’t think I’d make it and it still shows up for me, every single day.

So, to those who judge based on appearance here’s a middle finger for your assumptions.

And to those who are learning to love themselves in all forms here’s a reminder:

You are enough.

You are beautiful.

You are worthy right now, as you are.

I’m not here to be your version of perfect.

I’m here to be real.

To be healthy in my way.

To be grounded, soulful, kind, fiery, and free.

Here’s to every woman who’s ever been judged for her size keep walking, keep healing, keep loving your body for everything it does for you.

We are not made to be small.

We are made to be powerful, present, and unapologetically ourselves.
