Finding Balance in the Small Moments
My week begins on Sunday, and Fridays are reserved for me whether that’s rest, quiet moments, or holding space through my Reiki practice.
Some days are hard. Some days, my body feels like it’s working against me. Living with a condition that affects every part of daily life means constantly learning how to listen, adjust, and honour what my body needs.
There are essential things that have become part of reconnecting with myself part of managing the one condition that impacts me every single day.
I’m learning to appreciate the small moments: a coffee by the beach, feeding a cheeky bird, meaningful conversations with supportive people, and creating space not only for others, but for myself too.
When you’re living with something that effects every part of your life, balance becomes everything. Taking time for naps. Allowing rest without guilt. Slowing down when your body asks for it. Finding gratitude in the simple things. Appreciating what your body can do, even when it feels like it’s fighting you.
Sometimes it looks like making it through the week. Sometimes it looks like choosing softness over pressure. Sometimes it’s simply pausing long enough to recognise how far you’ve come.
