Becoming a Nanny
Healing Generations
Becoming a nanny healed me in ways I didn’t even know I needed. What began as a role of caring for others slowly became one of the most transformative parts of my own healing journey.
Being surrounded by little souls heir laughter, honesty, and unfiltered joy awakened something inside me. Their innocence reminded me of a version of myself I had long forgotten: the little girl who once craved safety, softness, and to be seen.
Each day, I find myself offering them what I once needed patience when they’re overwhelmed, comfort when they’re upset, and space to simply be. And somewhere along the way, I realised I wasn’t just nurturing them was nurturing the parts of myself that never got that chance.
This journey has become about more than work; it’s become about ending a generational curse. The kind that whispers love must be earned, emotions are inconvenient, or that softness makes you weak. I made a choice to rewrite that story to show that love can be gentle, boundaries can be kind, and presence can heal.
Every giggle, every hug, every moment of quiet connection is a reminder that healing doesn’t always come from big breakthroughs sometimes it’s found in the smallest, most ordinary moments of love.
Through these children, I’ve learned how to be a safe space, not just for them, but for myself. I’ve learned that breaking cycles begins when we choose to show up differently with compassion, with grace, and with the courage to love freely.
Becoming a nanny wasn’t just a job. It became a sacred act of healing for them, for me, and for the generations to come.
