Welcome to Turn Pain to Power
Kia Ora, I’m Bex,
I’m live in New Zealander living in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, a mum of three amazing adult children, and a very proud Nanny to a cheeky little grandson who absolutely has my heart.
I’m a domestic violence survivor, Reiki practitioner, women’s group facilitator and life coach and I’m the woman behind the 8-Week Life Coaching Journey.
But before any of those titles, I’m simply a woman who has lived through some shit, learned a hell of a lot along the way, and decided that my experiences would not be wasted.
This is my story. And it’s still being written.
My journey has taken me through domestic violence, trauma, chronic illness, chronic pain, mental health struggles, loss of identity, rebuilding, healing and learning how to come back to myself.
Since 2017, my health has been one hell of a rollercoaster.
One minute I was living life, working, studying, raising my children and juggling everything that life threw at me.
Then suddenly, my body began to say Enough.
My health deteriorated. My world became smaller. I could no longer hold down full-time or even part-time work, and I had to make the decision to prioritise my health.
But that came with another battle advocating for myself inside a health system that didn't always understand what was happening to me.
And then there was the judgement.
The assumptions.
The lack of understanding.
The invisible nature of chronic illness.
People don't always see what someone is carrying beneath the surface.
I know that because I've lived it.
From the comfort of my bed, something began to change.
What started as Nirvana Life & Wellness eventually evolved into something much bigger.
In 2024, my original blog The Devil Inside became a space where I could write about the things people didn't always want to talk about.
Trauma.
Mental health.
Chronic illness.
Pain.
Healing.
The nervous system.
Identity.
The things we hide.
The things we survive.
It started as a way to educate others, raise awareness and build my own mental-health toolbox.
But somewhere along the way, I realised something.
I wasn't broken.
I was learning how to rebuild.
And that journey of being beautifully broken has continued to evolve just as I have.
Today, I don't just talk about healing. I live it.
My work has grown into a space where women can come exactly as they are.
Through Reiki, I create space for grounding, rest, emotional release and reconnecting with yourself.
Through my women's groups, I create spaces for connection, honest conversations, friendship, support and community.
And through my 8-Week Life Coaching Journey, I help women start coming back to themselves.
Not by becoming someone else.
Not by fixing everything overnight.
But by asking:
What do I actually want?
What matters to me now?
What have I been putting off?
Where have I abandoned myself?
And what would happen if I finally started choosing me?
Because sometimes healing doesn't begin with a huge transformation.
Sometimes it begins with one small decision.
To start.
And outside of all of that?
I'm still just Bex.
I love yoga and meditation.
I'm happiest near the beach.
I love cooking, music and, yes, I'm a metal and rock
Sunflowers are my favourite flower.
I love road trips, concerts, discovering new places and finding those little moments that make life feel good.
And I'm learning that a beautiful life doesn't have to mean a perfect life.
It can be messy.
It can be complicated.
It can include chronic pain, difficult days, setbacks and uncertainty.
And you can still find joy in it.
Why I do what I do
I know what it feels like to lose yourself.
I know what it feels like to survive.
I know what it feels like to have people tell you who they think you are.
And I know what it feels like to slowly find your way back.
That's why my passion has never changed:
Helping people realise that their circumstances do not have to become their identity.
Whether you're navigating trauma, rebuilding after domestic violence, living with chronic illness, struggling with your identity, feeling stuck, or simply knowing that something needs to change you don't have to have it all figured out before you begin.
You just have to be willing to take the first step.
This isn't about pretending life is perfect.
It's about learning how to live differently.
It's about healing, connection, self-worth, boundaries, movement, awareness and becoming the person underneath all the survival mechanisms.
And most importantly.
You.
So, if you're ready to stop putting yourself last, start investing in yourself and begin creating a life that feels more like yours I'd love to walk alongside you.
Because I've learned something along the way:
Pain may be part of my story, but it doesn't get to write the ending.
This Turn Pain to Power.
And maybe your next chapter starts here too.
