A Life Beyond Trauma
Becoming Her
Last year was a year of learning.
Learning how trauma has lived in my body.
Learning why my nervous system reacts the way it does.
Learning that my symptoms weren’t me “failing” they were my body communicating.
My healing journey in 2025 was about unpacking the crap. Bit by bit. Endless appointments. Conversations I didn’t want to have. Sitting with truths that were uncomfortable but necessary.
It was about understanding survival mode and finally asking the question that changed everything:
Who am I beyond the labels?
Beyond the diagnoses.
Beyond the trauma responses.
Beyond the roles I learned to play just to get through.
That question became the final blog series of 2025 a closing chapter of understanding and awareness.
This year feels different.
This year is about Becoming Her.
Not fixing myself.
Not analysing every wound.
But focusing on recovery. Regulation. Safety.
Learning how to live in a body that no longer needs to stay on high alert.
I’m shifting my energy toward nervous system regulation and who I am when I’m no longer defined by what happened to me.
And honestly? We don’t talk enough about the real damage trauma does.
We talk about mindset.
We talk about “healing vibes.”
We talk about moving on.
But we don’t talk enough about what trauma does inside the body.
How it rewires the nervous system.
How it shows up as exhaustion, shutdown, hypervigilance, pain, illness, emotional overwhelm.
We’re living in a world full of unhealed people throwing their unresolved pain around like fertiliser and while that causes harm outwardly, what’s happening internally is often far more devastating.
Healing isn’t just about becoming softer or more positive.
It’s about restoring safety within yourself.
It’s about learning to regulate, not override.
To listen, not push.
To become someone who feels at home in her own body again.
This year isn’t about surviving.
It’s about becoming her.
