Who Am I Now, Beyond the Labels
Blog Series - Beyond the labels, Who Am I
As we move through the Beyond the Labels blog series, I want you to take a quiet moment for yourself to slow down, read with intention, and reflect. Because whether we talk about it or not, every single one of us has been labeled at some point in our lives.
Some labels were handed to us by others spoken in frustration, judgment, or misunderstanding. Some were whispered quietly in our own minds, born from fear, pain, or the stories we told ourselves just to survive. And sometimes, those labels felt so heavy and so constant that we started to believe they were the truth of who we are.
But they’re not.
They never were.
Understanding why those labels stuck is part of the healing. Letting yourself trace them back to the moments they were formed, the wounds behind them, the versions of you who carried them because they didn’t know they were allowed to put them down.
This process isn’t about blaming or shaming. It’s about awareness. It’s about compassion. It’s about reclaiming the space within yourself that those labels once occupied.
Because what I’m learning is this:
I am not a label.
And neither are you.
I am a person layered, evolving, imperfect, resilient. A story still unfolding.
So as you read, let these words meet you where you are. Let them soften the edges of the identities you no longer want to carry. Let them remind you that you are allowed to grow beyond anything that once defined you.
You are more than what you’ve been called.
More than what you’ve been through.
More than what the world decided you should be.
This series is your invitation to step into that truth gently, bravely, and without apology.
